3: HONDA FIT
For years, the Honda Fit was the go-to option for those who wanted a car that they could buy for under $20K that could provide elite packaging, fuel economy, attractive looks, and some fun, rare on such inexpensive cars. Unfortunately, American consumers could not appreciate the Fit for the terrific compact car that it is, and Honda had no choice but to move the Fit (Called the "Jazz" in other countries) to a different audience. It really is unfortunate, but brands such as Nissan and Kia have taken advantage of the best car in the segment's departure, with the former debuting the outstanding "Kicks" SUV, and the latter refreshing their already good "Soul" compact into a remarkable vehicle. What I'm trying to say is that the Honda Fit will be missed, but not really.2: LOTUS EVORAThis one really stings. The gorgeous Lotus Evora is not going to be available in the US, effective immediately. I'm not going to beat around the bush: The Evora is one of my favorite cars, period. A brilliant car to take to the back roads, local track, or even just to run to the store, the Evora is a stunning car, a future icon. You could say: "Oh, you can just get a Porsche 718" or "Why would you want to buy something from a sketchy automaker like Lotus, when you could just go buy an Audi or Lexus?" Because sometimes, you just gotta go with your heart. For some people, a boring ol' BMW doesn't get the job done. I'm one of those people. Just look at the Lotus, and honestly tell me you don't crave it. That's what I thought.
1: MERCEDES-BENZ E450 ATWagons are tragically underappreciated in this country. The best of both worlds, (Cars and SUVs) nothing else gets the job done in such effortless style. With all the advantages of a SUV, (Plenty of space, capable off-road, high seating, comfortable, better visibility, better in snow, better towing, generally safer, etc..) and all the advantages of a car (quick, superior handling, better fuel economy, easier to park, lower maintenance costs, smoother ride, etc..) a wagon is simply a remarkable option. The Mercedes E450 is no exception. Like all Mercedes products, the E450 is a expertly designed vehicle that provides loads of luxury, and even a sizeable dose of performance. You might be tempted to call out the Benz for its $70K asking price, but, truth be told, the E450 is worth every penny.
